Some cool Airline images:
Ethiopian Airlines 757-200
Oct 2003: Here's an exotic bird... an Ethiopian 757 being pushed back for a return trip to Addis Ababa in Africa. Today in 2006 they've modernized their look a little... Here's ET-AKF today: www.airliners.net/open.file/0906098/L/
*Airplanes 101* (See Airplanes 101 Set)
Name: Boeing 757-200
Manufacturer: Boeing (USA) .
Main Role: large capacity long range mainline jetliner
Basic design: Two engined single aisle narrow body jet.
Capacity: Roughly 175-240 passengers
Range: 4700km -7200km
First delivery date: 1983
Still in production: No
Easily confused for: TU-204, the Airbus A321 and the 737-900 as well as the 737 & A320 as all have a similar narrow body twin engine design.
Main identifying points: Look for a very high positioned narrow-body plane with very tall landing gear, two larger than normal engines and particularly large cockpit windows. Also it's the only one of two narrow body twin-jets with standard double wheeled landing gear (ie: 2 sets of wheels), most others have single wheeled gear (1 set of wheels). [Note on exceptions: Some Indian Airline's A320 are the only A320s with double wheeled main landing gear due to the terrain they must tackle at local Indian Airports. Also the Russian TU-204 loos very much in appearance to the 757 in all respects. It has standard upward winglets and a slightly bigger tail. The cockpit windows are also shaped differently] Blended winglets are being sold as an after market product, Continental, American and recently Delta have ordered them but normally this plane has no winglets.
Examples of Main Operators: Northwest, Continental, American, United, Delta, US Airways, British Airways and many charter airlines and more. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Boeing_757_operators

Connecting the community, my Twitter strategy, and American Airlines at DFW
I thought, to commemorate this entry on connecting people, that I'd include a photo of an airplane from one of the busiest airports in the world - DFW in Dallas. This is the same plane that I flew to Tokyo on just recently. It was shot from high above in the Admiral's Club. It was an awfully stormy day, and I was worried that maybe the flight wouldn't go off on time! We were delayed a few hours... but that gave me plenty of time to set up all my equipment in there like dork!
You guys should meet! Put your info on the main thread at www.stuckincustoms.com/2009/10/26/connecting-the-communit... !
So, what's your Twitter or Facebook or both? Put it in the comments below! I know many of you have friended or followed me -- that's great -- but I think you should all connect with one other too! There are many people from various backgrounds and I think you all would find some unexpected connections! On FB, some people are open about friending (like me), but on Twitter, you can follow anyone without their consent.
What's my Twitter strategy?
First, I use Twitter the "right" way. That is, I have taken time to carefully build, re-build, cull, and personalize a list of several hundred people to follow. These are people I have discovered that are interesting, inspirational, or just guilty pleasures. I look at Twitter several times a day to get new ideas, unexpected finds, and news from people that have similar tastes to mine.
Second, and less importantly, I use Twitter to filter the world for anyone curious enough to follow me. I try to keep a balance of: 33% inspirational and/or artistic finds that I share, 33% sharing of my own work with everyone, and 33% connecting people who should know one another! Oh, and 1% WILDCARD. At least, this is my goal! I may not always hit those ratios, but I do my best.
Last, here are 10 Things You Need to Stop Tweeting About ! Haha funny... those of you that don't like Twitter probably are:
1) Following people that are full of BS that do many things on that list
2) Or you don't want to tell the world what you are doing (THAT is okay -- but... you don't have to tell people! You can still follow people you find interesting without even sending out a tweet.
3) You have yet to realize Trey's Twitter Truth: "Twitter is cool because it's a nonstop party you don't have to hang out in a small group of mostly annoying people."

Turkish Airlines 737-800 TC-JFT
A nice set of winglets on this new 737-800.
*Airplanes 101* (See Airplanes 101 Set)
Name: Boeing 737-800
Manufacturer: Boeing (USA) .
Main Role: medium capacity medium range mainline jetliner
Basic design: Two engines single aisle narrow body jet. Airframe based on the Boeing 707. It is essentially a 737-400 replacement.
Capacity: Roughly 162-189 passengers
Range: 3500km -5400km
First delivery date: 1998
Still in production in 2006: Yes
Easily confused for: A320, A321, 727 & other models of the 737
Main identifying points: Look for the classic Boeing cockpit windows with 4 "eyebrow windows above the main windows although in the most recent examples all the eyebrow windows have been eliminated, Two traditional wing mounted engines, less oval shape than the 737-300 or -400 because of the new larger and higher wing, winglets are an option so they may or may not be on them... if so like in the photo they are blended winglets swept up very high and quite dramatic, a kinked leading edge on the tail and the tail cone shown in the picture. This is a very popular selling plane and you'll likely see it at any major airport worldwide.
Examples of Main Operators: Continental, Westjet, Delta, Air China, China Southern, Aeromexico, American Airlines, Qantas just to name a few.
