REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER VENEZUELA 
 Consular jurisdiction applies to Venezuela visas - TDS can only process applications for persons who are residents of the following states: DC, KY, MD, OH, VA, WV.
 
 Special requirements exist for U.S. Official and Diplomatic passport holders. Tourist and business visa requirements for regular U.S. Passport holders follow:
 
 Tourist Visa 
 
 If travelling by commercial airline, a tourist card can be obtained at airport on arrival. If travelling by private transportation or by land, a visa is required. 
 Submit your valid, signed U.S. Passport 
 1 Application form, completed and signed 
 2 Passport-type photographs 
 Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser) 
 Copy of airline tickets or itinerary 
 Certification of employment, specifying the following: length of employment, position, salary. 
 Bank reference letter (not a bank statement) verifying opening date, number and type of account, current balance. 
 Business Visa 
 
 Submit your valid, signed U.S. Passport 
 1 Application form, completed and signed 
 2 Passport-type photographs 
 Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser) 
 Copy of airline tickets or itinerary 
 A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to: 
 
 Embassy of Venezuela, Visa Section, Washington DC
 
 The letter must explain all of the following: 
 The traveler's position with the Company 
 Purpose of travel 
 Reference to be visited in Venezuela 
 Guarantee financial support and return transportation to the U.S. for the applicant. 
 The letter should be signed by a company officer other than the applicant.

you will need a passport to travel out of the country. Any travel agency can advise you on how to go about getting one. It has been so long since I had one, I can't remember where i went to get it but you will also need a special passport picture taken.
