Only two maps show up, War chasers and some other one. There are a lot of maps in folder. I also downloaded a couple TD maps and DotA Allstars. I am playing on a MacBook and I downloaded the Mac client from Blizzard.

I'm not sure what you mean by you downloaded the Mac client from Blizzard. You bought the game online? Anyway, I can tell you from a PC perspective the hierarchy of folders and whatnot to ensure you've got the maps working properly.
First, did you download these wc3 custom maps from joining games via Battle.net, or did you download them directly from websites?
If you downloaded them direct from sites, they may not have been downloaded to the correct folder. On Mac I believe the correct folder is "Hard Drive>Applications>Warcraft III>Maps>Download" for custom games. This is where your maps should be located.
